Entrepreneurship is like a road. The decisions you make along the way can greatly affect the next step in your journey and it also appears like everyone goes through the said journey a little differently. Some move fast in order to grasp their ideal success while others have found considerable success in moving slow and steady.
Whether you are in the stage of building, or, in the midst of sustaining and/or growing a business, it is very relevant to understand the evolving phases of entrepreneurship. Knowing your current role in your business can help you stay ahead of the game as you will realize your business aims, priorities and strategies depending on what phase you are in or about to transition to.
In today’s episode, we discuss the distinction of the three phases of entrepreneurship to help you be enlightened on what phase are you really in. Furthermore, we talk about what mindset should you be equipped with in order to get into the next level.
“Always be thinking like a CEO and have that mindset even if it’s just you. If you are starting your business, be thinking like a CEO and what I mean by that is be objective about how you are using your time and what you are doing. Don’t just create a giant to-do-list and knock things off and start with that easiest thing. Think about where you want to go, figure out the steps you need to take to get there and then focus on those things and those things alone. Always be evaluating, how you are spending your time and what you are spending your time on and figuring out what is the dollar value of that, like how much are you earning from that task. Eliminate the ones that aren’t moving you forward and go all in on the ones that do move you forward. I think if you can have that mindset, that CEO mindset as a self employed person, that’s going to either help you get to the next level and hire those first team members, or, it’s going to help you have success earlier that you can build that work life laptop on the beach lifestyle if that’s what you want.” – Mike Yanda

Great episode guys! I’m working on starting up an online cookie business so hearing about different aspects of online businesses on my way to my “9-5” is really helpful. I’m still catching up on episodes so I’m not quite sure what I’d like to hear next except maybe interviewing other online business owners that are working in other online industries besides marketing and blogging. Thanks and keep it up!
